Hey there, my little gaffers, and welcome to the 1% Better podcast. I'm your host, Heather. It's funny because it rhymes. So let's do a synopsis on what the 1% Better podcast is all about. On this podcast, you will hear all about my crazy life, my eating disorder, my love-hate relationship with eating disorder recovery. Spoiler alert, it's mainly hate. This podcast will focus a lot on mental health.
and how to deal with the rollercoaster of emotions that recovery brings. Yes, eating is very important in eating disorder recovery. However, we will pull back the curtain on what happens when it's just us and our thoughts. We will take a long hard look at the truth and admitting that we are sick and how to navigate through the eating disorder voice I call mine slick and how to keep going. Recovery is scary. It's an unlived experience.
You haven't done it yet. And it's really easy to talk yourself out of it. I've done it a thousand times, trust me. I'm here to share with you everything about myself. The good, the bad, the ugly, and the only way I know how. Through sarcasm, dark humor, a shit ton of swearing, and being very, very unfiltered. I really do hope that I can bring some light in a world of dark. I'm gonna bring on gas.
from all sides of the eating disorder recovery realm and ask the tough questions. I'm also here for all you guys who I refer to as my little gaffers. Now, that's Canadian slang for like my little buddy, my BFF, my ride or die, my mshtuka, which is Yiddish for family. And that's how I feel. We are all family here. I'm here to answer the questions that you want to ask.
Nothing off limits. I have no feelings. Ask away. But most importantly, I'm here for you guys as a cheerleader and I want you guys to succeed. I know not every day is a good day, but I'll be here as your little gaffer and just support you in any way I can. Thank you for subscribing. Now let's get 1% better together.
