Amanda and Kyle hate one another. They clearly feel trapped, and resent one another so at this point, they're only together for the show and Loverboy. Lindsey and Carl are speaking 2 different languages and they are not hearing one another. I still think Lindsey was blinded because to her, these issues with Carl could be resolved in a twisted way.
