This morning rant is about Love. We as believers of God are commanded to walk by love. In fact that how people will recognize the true sons of God. The bible also tells us what love looks like.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
1 John 3:10 “By this the children of God and the children of the devil can be distinguished: Anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is anyone who does not love his brother.”
1 John 4:7-8 “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
1 John 4:16 “And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love; whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him.”
1 John 4:12 “No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is perfected in us.”
Romans 5:5 “And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
John 15:12 This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.
John 15:17 This I command you, that you love one another.
1 John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
1 John 3:23 This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.
Romans 13:10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
