This morning I talk about an age old question that many Christians are asking (Why does the way of the wicked prosper?), yet the bible tells us why. David got an understanding about their purpose and their end. Psalm 73:17 until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I discerned their end.
- Ecclesiastes 2:26 26To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
- Proverbs 13:22 A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.
- Proverbs 28:8 Whoever increases wealth by taking interest or profit from the poor amasses it for another, who will be kind to the poor.
- Ecclesiastes 6:1-2 6 There is an evil that I have seen under the sun, and it lies heavy on mankind: 2 a man to whom God gives wealth, possessions, and honor, so that he lacks nothing of all that he desires, yet God does not give him power to enjoy them, but a stranger enjoys them.
