Description

We started considering the subject matter of sin and last week, we looked at the power of sin and that this power resides in the flesh and as long as we are in the flesh, there is a natural pull to transgress the laws of God so the appearance of the law is not enough to sustain our obedience because the law of God was made weak by the weakness of the flesh which is sin so God sent Christ to do what the flesh could not do which is to end the control of sin over man-Romans 8:3.
Man could not obey the laws of God because of the flesh and that was because flesh held sway over the lives of men hence believers were living in sin. The Sacrifice of Christ for our sins was primarily not to bring forgiveness of sin but to condemn sin in the flesh which is what was controlling man and it is upon this premise that we have forgiveness of sins by his blood-Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14.
