S. Texts: Hebrews 11:1-14, Romans 4:1-25

We have been considering the doctrine and operations of faith and it is our understanding that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God and that when the word of God comes to us, the tarmac upon which it lands is our spirit man, however for it to be fruitful and manifested in our lives, it must be believed and to believe it means we must meditate on what has been received in our spirit and meditation is basically speaking what God has spoken to us in line with 2 Corinthians 4:13.

Faith requires that we believe in God and our belief is built through our speaking but there are pillars and foundations upon which our speakings rest and we will consider these pillars today.

The Pillars of Faith

What gives effect and power to our speakings is rooted in knowing the God that has spoken to us-Jeremiah 9:24, 1 Corinthians 1:31 and knowing him rests upon the pillars of faith for it only takes faith to know God. The knowing that we have of God is what reinforces our belief in God and gives confidence and power to our speaking and this knowing rests on the following pillars:
