The Case Of. Iris Chang was born in New Jersey in March 28, 1968, and died on November 9, 2004. She was a successful author, mother, and a member of a prominent Taiwanese American family. She wrote the New York Times best-selling book The Rape of Nanking. Her findings, and the social and political implications for this and other of her books; likely triggered a spiral into her mental illness and ultimate death in 2004. She is remembered for her caring personality, her dedicated and valiant research, and her pursuit of justice and reparations for victimized Chinese and Chinese Americans.
