Did you know that women are 25% more likely to Apologize than men? Studies have shown that men and women define the word Apologize differently. This could be because women are raised to value empathy more than men, while men are raised to value strength more than women. Because of our empathic behavior we tend to feel that we are doing something wrong more often, thus creating the bad habit of apologizing over and over again. This week we did some research on apologizing and how it relates to who we are individually. Some people over apologize out of habit while others do it because they are people pleasers. Heather shares how she over apologizes due to her lack of self esteem while Nikki is a confident person and therefore, she is not an over apologizer. We offer alternatives to “I’m sorry” and challenge you to keep track of how often you apologize and what you find yourself apologizing for.Links mentioned –Sheep to Shark - sheeptoshark.comAustin Pop Up Retreats - https://www.instagram.com/austinpopupretreats/The Writing Barn - https://thewritingbarn.com/RockRose Yoga - https://www.instagram.com/rockroseyoga/https://www.jstor.org/stable/41062429https://www.morefm.co.nz/home/trending/2019/10/women-say-sorry-more-often-than-men-according-to-research.htmlhttps://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/trust-yourself/202110/how-stop-over-apologizinghttps://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/runs-in-the-family/202107/i-apologize-over-apologizingwww.goodlifecounselingaustin.com
