Description

This week as we bring awareness to infertility during National Infertility Awareness Week our very own Heather shared her story. Heather and her husband started trying for a baby in August 2016. After 11 months they were finally pregnant. They lost the baby at 9 weeks. They would never be pregnant again. In 2020 they would two rounds of IVF, both resulted in 0 viable embryos. The miscarriage was the beginning of what would become an 80 pound weight gain, a diagnosis of anxiety and depression, a long list of hormonal imbalances, the decline of Heather’s mental and emotional health, and the inability for Heather to love a body she felt failed her multiple times. In November of 2020 as they waited the results of their second round, Heather knew she needed something beautiful to be born from her pain. This was the birth of her nonprofit, Hope Faith Strength. Hope Faith Strength is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit to raise awareness for infertility. The goal is to raise enough money to donate to families in need of financial assistance to get their chance to grow their family in the unconventional ways due to infertility.Heather shared her struggles as openly as she can in hopes to help at least one person feel less alone. Heather has been featured on PopSugar and The IVF Warrior.
