The apostle Paul confronts the Galatians' attempt to say that salvation came by works by offering five arguments for justification by faith--1) the argument from the people (3:1-5), 2) the argument from the Patriarch (3:6-9, 15-18), 3) the argument from the precepts (3:10-12, 19-25), 4) the argument from the practice of the Son (3:13-14), and 5) the argument from the promise of the Spirit (3:26-29).
