Evan Holtzman was born and raised in Dallas, Texas to Denise, a preschool teacher, and Scott, an accountant. He went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. After spending two years in Houston in the oil and gas industry designing rigs and platforms, he decided to take a job with another energy engineering company in Los Angeles. His new roommate at the time was an actor and although the "acting world" was completely foreign to him, he decided to take an acting class just for fun. After his first class in 2011, he fell in love with the art and was off to the races.
