Description

How many of us “sit in meditation” where we’re just distracting our minds from our inner restlessness? Whether we’ve meditated for five minutes or five years, we can easily lie to ourselves. Meditation and contemplative prayer are practices. We learn to not silence but instead harness our inner restlessness. It takes practice to allow some of our restlessness to unravel one thread at a time. It also takes some honesty and humility, acknowledging that even if we spent yesterday wallowing in our vices, today is a good day to start anew with virtue.
