This is Broadband the podcast and I’m Dennise Kowalczyk – thanks for tuning in for this new episode. If this is your first visit, welcome! I created this podcast is to share some of the wisdom that other business woman are sharing with me and also to showcase their businesses to the greater community.
Last year, women launched over 1800 new businesses – each day. Latina women-owned businesses grew more than 87%...and, 62% of women entrepreneurs cite their business as their primary source of income. A lot of great stuff going on for women in business and it is my plan to introduce you to a few of them here on BroadBand the Podcast!
On today’s show, I am excited to introduce you to Donna McCarthy. She is the energy behind Miss Mac Books and one of the publishers of a new kid’s digital magazine called The Bubblah. Born & raised on Long Island, she received a BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts. Her career includes work as a freelance illustrator, textile designer and an art teacher. She is now living in Rhode Island and living her dream as a picture book illustrator and writing of children’s stories.
