In Virginia, an act of Congress is underway to try to convert a basement of a jail in order to let 4 kids sleep there overnight to cut down on thousands of hours of transports. These kids will be on the city commission before it's over.
In Los Angeles County, Los Padrinos had a riot/escape over Christmas. Only 40 officers showed up to work that night, and of course they're bearing the blame for that debacle-- not the admin who can't get it staffed and are too good to show up to cover the schedule. One officer might be in trouble for going to the bathroom.
