Today's episode is How to Love: Friends
* I personally struggle being the best friend can be*
We dive into the book of 1 Samuel and Esther. And pull our characters such as Johnathan + David, and Doeg + Saul in 1 Samuel. Haman + his surroundings (colleagues) in Esther. In responding to how to care for one another we get great insight on a good or bad friendship.
Jonathan + David:
1 Samuel Chapters 20-21: Phenomenal friendship. They treated each other like family and put God first in their actions, morals, and duties.
Doeg + Saul:
Chapter 22 of 1 Samuel: Acted as master and dog. It is a horrible partnership being that neither of them benefited the kingdom but tarnished it. As you learn more about them you see how astray they were from God. Which was even worse being that they see no wrong in their actions.
Haman + Surrounding:
Esther 5:14: Haman allowed the influence and ideas of others to get to his heart and his sense of power ruined his outcome in life
Disclaimer: I still need help being kind and loving to my friends and not being petty and mean. (yes who would’ve thought) God and I have been working hard but I still crack now and then.
