Introduction to Micah
The next series of Daily Bible Encouragement will be working through the Old Testament book of Micah. Micah was a prophet who spoke God’s word to God’s people sometime between 748 and 687 BC. The nation of Israel had been living in Canaan, the land God had promised them, for many generations but they had not consistently lived as his people. Micah is one of a number of prophets sent by God to warn them of the consequences of rejecting him, and to call them back to their true identity as his people.
We will work through the whole book, a few verses a day, over 8 weeks. There will be 6 episodes a week to allow for Sundays off (or give you a chance to catch up if you miss one!)
The book ends by asking “Who is a God like you?” and Micah’s own name means ‘Who is like Yahweh?’ So as we look forward to this new series, please join with me in praying that we would see more clearly who our God is, and what he is like, so that we would worship him and follow him as he deserves.
