Description

Many people throughout history have accused the Bible of being "boring" or unrelatable. It is daunting to pick up an old piece of literature and think of any way it could relate to our daily lives in the year 2024. Co-hosts, Annalise and Danielle, want to challenge this idea, encouraging listeners to see the Bible in its historical culture and context and in turn see how a 2000 year old book can still be speaking to us today. This episode will be part 1 in a sporadic series where we study different stories in the Bible to try and see the full picture the early Biblical writers were portraying. We want to challenge the idea that the Bible is boring, and show you how it is anything but. This episode applies this lens to the story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10:38-42 and explores the view of women during the first century Middle East.
