Description

Rose Nicaud was an enslaved woman in 1800s New Orleans who opened up a pushcart selling coffee.  At first glance this doesn’t sound like an inspiring story. But dig deeper and you will discover a woman who helped shape the New Orleans we know today. You will discover a woman who cultivated a community that welcomed all, despite the laws that existed to keep people separate. Rose Nicaud’s legacy is about more than just a cup of coffee.
