Tynin Maier, known artistically as Tyni Miš, is a 22-year-old artist and live illustrator based in Alberta. Her journey into art is deeply personal and intricately woven with her experiences of battling mental health challenges, including generalized anxiety disorder, chronic depression, and anxiety-induced health problems. Throughout her teenage and adult years, Tynin has faced intense struggles with feelings of loneliness, isolation, and abandonment. Despite reaching rock bottom, she has used these experiences as a catalyst for profound self-discovery and growth.
Art became Tynin's sanctuary, a powerful medium through which she could channel her emotions and find solace. It has allowed her to build confidence and embrace solitude, learning to love herself for who she truly is. Tynin’s philosophy centers around the belief that it is imperative to be comfortable being alone and to love oneself, regardless of societal opinions. She emphasizes that external validation cannot bring true happiness or a sense of being loved. At the end of the day, it’s the internal journey toward self-acceptance and love that matters most. Her story underscores the truth that nothing worth having comes easy, and it is through struggle that we often find our strength.
Through her art and her words, Tynin seeks to connect with others who are navigating similar paths, offering a message of hope and resilience.
