Dr. Ruth Gotian is the Executive Director of the Mentoring Academy and Assistant Dean for Mentoring at Weill Cornell Medical College. She has spent more than 25 years involved in physician and physician scientist education at Weill Cornell and was the administrative director of the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD program. Dr. Gotian received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and her Ed. D from Columbia University. Today, Dr. Gotian shares some of her incredible insights into what makes successful physician scientists tick, and how we can begin to teach those attributes of resilience to rising trainees.
