Description

This week we read a little known story written by a massively popular author. The Clockmaker, by Robert Louis Stevenson. It is unknown exactly when The Clockmaker was written, likely written in the 1880s. It was not included in his collection of stories, Fables, due to the fear that this work would offended both the scientific and religious community, a very difficult combination to pull off. To the modern reader, it is playfully irreverent and satirical while being deeply thoughtful and pensive.
