In this episode, we sit down with Donnie Keller, owner and head coach of Ionic Fitness in Bonita Springs, FL. A true local leader, Donnie shares not only his path in fitness and business, but also his deep commitment to uplifting the community.
Donnie grew up in Bonita Springs with a mindset of service and entrepreneurship — from starting small ventures early to earning degrees in Business and Exercise Science at FGCU. Over time, he’s brought those principles into his gym, becoming certified as a USAW Level 2 Olympic Weightlifting Coach, CrossFit Level 3 Coach, NSCA Strength & Conditioning Coach, and Nutrition Level 2.
What distinguishes Donnie and Ionic is their community focus. One of the standout initiatives he champions is Wilson’s Fit Futures, an after-school health & wellness program for youth ages 11–17 that offers workouts, nutrition education, and habit-building skills — and is offered free to participants. (Wilson's Fit Futures) Ionic Fitness is a partner in this program, contributing coaching support, access, and resources. (Wilson's Fit Futures) This alignment shows how Donnie sees his role not just as a gym owner, but as a community builder.
