As social media becomes the leading media, the companies behind these platforms become gate keepers for what millions of users see and can't see. Ultimately, these social medias dictate how well-informed and well-read their users are. Additionally, as their user base grows ever so quickly it seems almost as if they've become a public utility. So in order to protect this public utility should First Amendment rights extend to these mediums?
