Description

This morning we had a workout that involved running and rowing. I have noticed in CrossFit that most CrossFitter’s do not want to run. Maybe that is why they CrossFit 😁

Running, rowing and biking are definitely a challenge but it can become enjoyable.

I have learned that if you want to improve your running you have to have a plan. I recently had a friend of mine give me a book called 80/20 Running by Matt Fitzgerald. On the cover it says Run Stronger and Race Faster by Training Slower.

The principle it teaches is to run a majority of your runs in a lower aerobic zone.

In running there are aerobic and anaerobic zones.

Aerobic is an easier/sustainable zone to run in and Anaerobic is not a zone that can be held for long periods of time.

We started a new cycle this week that will build your base or aerobic capacity for the next 13 weeks.

Join us at Williams Field High School each Thursday at 5:15am or complete the workouts on your own if you want to improve your aerobic capacity even more.

Listen in today to learn how training in the aerobic zones will help you to improve in the gym!
