Running social media for government is no easy task and there aren't many people who understand the grind more than Dave Sommer. Dave is the former Head of Digital for Canadian Prime Minister and current Instagram Policy Manager for Politics, Government and Elections.
In our conversation we discuss the political social media marketing tactics Dave and the rest of the team used during the 2015 Canadian Federal Election and then after as a part of the Prime Minister's office running Justin Trudeau's Twitter and Justin Trudeau's Instagram.
Being a social media manager in politics is an important job and it doesn't get much bigger than running social media for the Prime Minister.
