We got a party going this week with Spencer, Cameron, Dave, and Buddy going back to 2009 and re-visiting the metal epic, Brutal Legend. Featuring the late and always great, Ozzy Osbourne in a totally awesome role as your underworld, upgrade guy. This is one of those games that if you love all things heavy metal and classic rock and roll it just is about the best ode to that lifestyle and world that one could ever have in a story.

The sad part is though, that this game is almost made for a slightly older generation that probably doesn't play much video games. Making it kind of a hard niche sell even back in 2009. I know we all love this type of tunes, but that is defiantly not the majority of people. And even with Guitar Hero bringing back classic rock and metal tunes. I believe the majority of that game's popularity was just the game and not the music. See the South Park episode when Randy brings out the real guitar and you can see the historical impact.

But if you love 70s to 2000s metal, the action gameplay of Devil May Cry, with some RTS and driving thrown in, you are in for a total show. The story is awesome, with great witty dialogue. There are characters played by not only Ozzy but Lita Ford, Jack Black, Kyle Gass, Tim Curry, Rob Halford, and Lemmy Kilmister. Loads of metal easter eggs thrown in and a soundtrack that is filled with so many great tunes. And the best part is, there are a lot of more obscure songs and not so much hits. Well, except for some of the hair metal songs. But still cool no matter what.

Of course, as we play through this again for some, and the first time for others. We learn that there is a remaster coming out soon. Which if that does make it, support the cause and maybe we can actually get a Brutal Legend 2 in the works before all of us metalheads fade to black.
