Description

Jess is a native new Englander, having grown up in Rhode Island before moving to Portland Maine to attend the Maine College of Art. She studied photography, textile design, and printmaking and graduated with a BFA in 2015. After graduation, she moved north to Western Maine, where I now creates a multitude of art and lives a vibrant life focused on the great outdoors with her husband Will.

Jess was one of our first contributors to Tell New
England when we first started taking submissions for our digital magazine, and she wrote about cross-country skiing around the Maine Hut system.

In this podcast we explore the challenges of navigating a career as an artist and the importance of staying true to oneself. Jess talks about her transition to gallery shows and events, as well as her plans for exploring different mediums of art and rebranding. She finds lots of inspiration from the beautiful outdoors she is surrounded by and gets to explore while navigating the seasons and living in a more rural area and keeping a solid community.
