Description

Tina Picz is a Filipina American multidisciplinary artist, mother, and founder / director of Firefolk Arts -- a gallery and co-working studio in Waitsfield, Vermont which opened in June of 2023, and prioritizes highlighting underrepresented creators in rural areas.

Tina was a food photographer and stylist in Boston and Vermont for 8 years, prior to opening the gallery. Before that she'd worked in clothing production, vintage sales, and singing / songwriting in Boston, NYC, and California.

Together we discuss how she always had a bit of entrepreneurial spirit and childlike curiosity when it came to different creative pursuits, and how exploring her Asian identity led her to finding community in rural Vermont and the opening of the art space.

Please note that this interview was recorded over 6 months ago, so definitely follow Tina and Firefolk Arts to keep up to date on the latest events and offerings!
