Good Friday Service:
As we reflect upon the once-for-all sacrifice Jesus made for the sins of all who will believe for salvation and eternal life, our hearts grieve over the picture of the wickedness of sin. And yet, from that cross, the first of Jesus’s seven
statements was a prayer for forgiveness.
The perfect Son of God incarnate is the Lamb of God who came to take away the sin of the world. Our thanksgiving abounds, for the story did not end on the cross. We worship the living Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who paid the price for our sins, rose from the grave, ascended into heaven, and will return one day in power and glory.
