In this episode we discuss independent artist music, the launch of BTM Radio and its first episode. We talk about the launch of Beyond The Mix Records, a sub-label of Rooted Kingdom Music. In this episode we announce who will head the sub-label. Don't miss that! We discuss heavy topics of lying to our fellow artist about their musical works. Why do we do this? Why are we afraid to hurt our fellow artists feelings? Be honest! If your friend asks you how his music sounds and you don't like it, tell him/her!
When we lie to our fellow artist about their music being awesome and you actually don't like it, you are robbing them of their creative growth. Artists, if you don't want and feedback because you don't want to get your feelings hurt; don't ask! In today's music business there is so much competition out there and we need to be a able to cut through all the other noise. We can only do this through growth in our music, as well as good marketing, but that's a different story.
In this music business we must have thick skin and don't be afraid to say the words that could possibly hurt your friend's feelings. As artists, we are entertainers, and yes we create music to express our artistic passion, but who will receive it if no one listens. Don't be afraid to grow.
In other news, Rooted Kingdom Music has announced they will be launching sub-label, Beyond The Mix Records this Tuesday. This is an amazing thing because this record label is super artist friendly, be sure to listen in to hear all the details.
In artists submission for Beyond The Mix Podcast we received music from an artist named Joseph Seca. Joseph is based out of Sao Paulo, Brazil and he is only 21 years of age. He submitted his song "DAYS OF OUR LIVES" and it is a BANGER! His side chain compression is on point and it gives the much needed bounce to his EDM. Good job Joseph! We also received a submission from Dizzy Panda. Dizzy submitted their song called "LI TRAI". We absolutely love this song! First hearing it, it is recognizable as a jazz track, but as you journey through the song you hear the hip hop beats and elements of electronic music techniques. This is an absolute must hear! Amazon even wants to jump on this ship to ban TikTok...oh wait, never mind. At first Amazon announced that they want their employees to delete the app and they are not authorized to download the Chinese-based application. Then they turned around and stated "we sent that in error" so it is official, Amazon still loves TikTok LOL!
