Rubi Ho was a four-year-old Vietnamese boy when his mother told him, "Come on. We're leaving right now!" He didn't understand what was happening as he escaped with his family from Saigon the day after it fell to the Communists in 1975. The family then made their way to America. Eight years later, his mother died in a traffic accident. He never knew his father, having been separated from him by the war.
