Finding Opportunity in Tragedy: How Sophie and Jodi Lynn Overcame Heartbreak to Help Others
What happens when you get two money coaches on the same program?
We find out today as JodieLynn meets Sophie!
Life often throws us curveballs in the form of tragedy and heartbreak. However, as Sophie Deslauriers and Jodi Lynn Creighton demonstrate, it is possible to not just survive difficult times but to emerge stronger while helping others along the way.
Both women faced immense challenges – Sophie with divorce, breast cancer diagnosis, and the stresses of the pandemic, and Jodi Lynn with her own cancer journey. Yet through it all, they maintained a growth mindset, continually developing themselves through over 20 years of personal work. As Sophie reflected, “I had to deconstruct every thought process I had…and start to understand why I had feelings of guilt and shame.”
When Walt Thiessen asked how she prepared herself to see opportunities amid crisis, Sophie credited her two decades practicing personal development. This inner work equipped her to handle “pretty significant life transitions…elegantly.” Still, growth was a choice – not all who face tragedy learn from it.
Faced with medical advice against having children, Sophie chose to refuse cancer treatment and believe in manifesting her desires. Through aligning with the universe, she experienced a “miracle pregnancy.” Her perseverance in difficult times inspired Jodi Lynn, who found parallels in wanting to be a lawyer and experiencing bankruptcy.
Now both coach women on overcoming heartbreak and building fulfilling lives. When clients express self-doubt, Sophie and Jodi Lynn validate emotions while encouraging new perspectives. Jodi Lynn probes root fears, while Sophie considers legacy – how might small changes impact goals? Their non-judgmental support empowers evolution.
As Sophie affirmed, “Tragedy is an opportunity…if you can focus on the light in the eye of the storm, it will pull you through.” May their stories of resilience amid adversity do the same for all facing life’s curveballs.
