"The major challenge the BJP is currently facing in Jharkhand is consolidating votes from the lower economic classes.
Due to schemes like the Mukhya Mantri Maiya Samman Yojana (which has influenced female voters) and the emergence of a new player in the coal mining belt, Jairam Mahato, the contest has become increasingly close and intense.
