"If you look at the statements made by leaders of these three parties (Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCPSP) over the past few years, it becomes clear that they have not been in favour of granting reservations to Marathas.
However, with elections approaching, they are unlikely to express this openly for fear of losing votes, as Marathas constitute a significant portion of the state's population," says Krishna Dange.
