That's in essence what we're doing when we make the repeated error (especially in our culture) thinking that human "morality" will measure up on the day of wrath. When we stand before Him, The Judge, we won't be able to excuse our trespasses and sins before a Holy God. But often times, people think we're having the same conversation about helping a little old lady cross the street. NO, we're not! God's concern is with your JUSTIFICATION before Him, and we can't get there from here.
He has said, "My ways are not your ways".
"If you then, who are EVIL, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” - Luke 11:13
Therefore, "You must be born again" of The Spirit of God.
The Lord said, "REPENT, THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND"!
And He .... "... CALLS MEN EVERYWHERE TO REPENT" - Acts 17:30
"For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our wrongdoings, like the wind, take us away."- Isaiah 64:6
Don't dare bribe The Holy God with "filthy rags".
Let's humble ourselves before Him and He promises to hear our cries. We need a Savior.
"And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’"- Acts 2:21
