The gift of FAITH is from God not from man:
You can't turn it on and off like a light switch.
It's an unmerited gift that comes from God's GRACE.
Let's define our terms:
GRACE is giving us what we don't deserve
MERCY is holding back what we DO deserve
Salvific faith is something more than trusting that our bus won't crash today on our way to work, it's knowing that we are IN GOD'S HANDS, AND KNOWING WHO HE IS, AND TRUSTING IN WHAT HE HAS REVEALED AND WHAT HE'S PLANNED FOR US FROM THE VERY BEGINNING.
ROMANS 8:28 - "ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THOSE WHO LOVE GOD AND ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE".
