this time on the podcast we want to introduce you to one of the spiritual disciplines that most affect the development of our hearts. The Christian spiritual discipline of memorization; also known as scripture memorization.
The process of memorizing scripture is so powerful because it moves the word of God from a collection of words we merely process cognitively into something that transforms our heart spiritually; it becomes deeper than knowledge, it becomes part of our very being as image-bearers. When scripture becomes a part of who we are, there is no other option but for the word of God to flow from us through our words, our actions, and our character and transforms our lives.
