Hello Friends!

Welcome to episode 10 of Vibrant Faith’s Podcast, Familying the Faith. Our purpose is to connect with ministry leaders who are ready to dig into engaging and uplifting parents, the primary faith-forming agents in our world, grow in their capacity and confidence as they share a vibrant faith in Jesus with the next generation.

We are so excited to share this conversation with you. This episode is such a practical look at the how-to’s of practically moving your church toward a family-focused approach.  We asked Rev. Angie Larson to join us. She is the Executive Pastor at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria, a small city in central Minnesota. Calvary was also the recipient of one of the Lilly Sponsored Christian Parenting and Caregiving grants that is the source of Vibrant Faith’s 4th Soil and Thriving Congregations work.  Angie and Calvary have already taken lots of steps to move toward a home-centered approach to formation.

We asked Angie about her own family, about what Calvary is already doing to recognize and lean into family life today, and what they plan to do with the grant initiative.

We wondered with her about how this small town church actually goes about engaging parents. We talked about how they are developing a culture that promotes the faith of parents and the messages they convey to reinforce that.

This was such just a practical and helpful conversation—from the perspective of someone facing same busyness and distractions of family life that you are seeing in your families, AND YET has chosen to lean in rather than complaining about how they aren’t showing up. You’re going to love it! Angie also describes HER grant work, which is focused on small groups of parents to support them in sharing their faith with their children. Simple and do-able steps to move the needed toward the home. YES!

Join us as we help you take that next faithful step!
