Reel Conversations is a film podcast that seeks to highlight the history of the Real to Reel International Film Festival, presented by the Cleveland County Arts Council. In this conversation, festival director Thomas Manning speaks with filmmaker and actress Mageina Tovah – who you may know from a number of projects over the years, including the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films, and the television series “The Magicians." Today, we’re talking about her work on the short film “Hux.” Mageina was writer, director, editor, and star of this award-winning Real to Reel selection that won the Best Professional Short award in 2016.
Real to Reel is celebrating 25 years with the 2024 festival, which will be held July 24-27 at the Joy Performance Center in Kings Mountain, NC.
