On this episode, Cutting Through Tough Conversations: Death is not sexy, our second of four in a series called, "Let's talk about it" where we outline the significance of equitable end-of-life care and planning in Black communities, and explain why it is important to make plans for your assets and health.
To combat the end-of-life inequities that disproportionately impact African Americans - including not being prepared for the dying process and to close the end of life educational gaps - we created our community engagement initiatives. We want to inform our communities of the many resources about the range of end-of-life options to empower them to make informed decisions so they can advocate for themselves. This has been our chance to encourage candid and frequent discussions about end-of-life wishes before a time of crisis.
