Series Title: Embracing Sabbath

Series Summary: The Sabbath is an ancient practice rooted in Creation and offered to God’s people as an outworking of his salvation.  It is a 24-hour period where we stop from our normal rhythms of work to rest, delight, and worship God. In this series, we see how the Sabbath is first a gift given by God to human beings. We see that, Jesus called himself Lord of the Sabbath as a way to demonstrate the release and restoration that he brings and the future hope of rest offered to us in the gospel.

Passages: Luke 4:14-21

Speaker: Omar Ortiz

In Luke 4 Jesus tells us that the ministry he does on the Sabbath is a sign pointing to the kind of rest that he is bringing. This week we consider how we are called to extend Sabbath rest to those who are within our spheres of influence.
