Capt. Bogart, a fishing captain, demands to know of his bosses, Senorita Marita and Mr. Zito, why his trawler spends more time taking soundings of the ocean around the Panama Canal instead of fishing. When he outright accuses them of being spies, Zito shoots him. Enter Lamont Cranston, who has taken it on himself to ferret out the spy ring. He and Margo travel to Panama.
