While vacationing in Egypt, Lamont Cranston and Margo Lane find their peaceful getaway interrupted by a desperate plea from an old friend. Dr. Rawling, now the head of Cairo General Hospital, confides in Lamont about a disturbing mystery—three patients have vanished without a trace from the hospital. When Lamont sensibly suggests involving the police, Dr. Rawling refuses, fearing the devastating scandal and public backlash such an investigation would bring to the institution. Instead, he turns to Lamont, imploring him to uncover the truth before more lives—and the hospital’s reputation—are lost.
