“Defend the North Pole!” (Kicking It With Santa Special)
In this lively holiday episode of the Caching Kids Soccer Podcast, we feature another festive activity from Kicking It With Santa by Chris King — Defend the North Pole! This exciting drill blends shooting, dribbling, and defensive bravery as players take on the roles of Naughty Elves (attackers) and Good Elves (defenders) in a fun, fast-paced challenge.
Players around the circle try to strike the “North Pole” in the center while the Good Elves do everything they can to block shots, protect the pole, and prevent it from being knocked over! After each timed round, defenders rotate to see who can keep the North Pole safest with the lowest score against them. It’s a brilliant way to teach anticipation, blocking, and defensive body positioning—all wrapped in Christmas magic.
You’ll also hear fun progressions like adding a blow-up Santa, Snowman, or even having the coach dress up as Santa for the players to protect!
