Description

Compulsive Overthinking is actually a mental health crisis, but we don't want to call it that. Dysfunctional thinking is THE THING leading to depression, anxiety, and other common mental illnesses that make it harder to do life.


Here's are some notes from my outline:
How to Override Overthinking

Step 1 Awareness & acknowledgement: notice its happening and not going anywhere good
To get better at this, you need to exercise your self awareness through meditation.

Step 2 Practice the Pause, then extend it with an activity
Next time I find myself overthinking I will:
• Take a deep breath
• Snap my fingers
• Do some neck stretches

Step 3 Reassess the value of your current thoughts ie edit your cart
What do you want to get out of your time spent thinking?
Drop it ( for now) or Write it out if its worth it

Step 4 Can a physical action replace the mental action?
What need isn’t satisfied when you stop thinking about it?
Can I meet this need right now?
Ie emotional
