In this episode, Caitlin reveals that we often unknowingly put ourselves into a stressful state by breathing from the chest triggering our primal instinct which moves blood away from our reproductive organs and towards our muscles and heart to arm us with what we need to run away. Hence why we call it our “fight, flight or freeze response”.

In a situation where we need to be in survival mode, this is helpful but being in this state but being in it for long periods of time can have a really harmful effect on pregnant mums, because it signals to the body that it is not safe to have a baby.

This episode will teach you how to use your breath to bring you into a relaxed state as well as some of the ways you can utilise the breath as a natural pain reliever.
