Carly:

Welcome to Finding Noble, a podcast where we climb into the world of young people’s mental health, and provide support for the adults who support them.

I’m your host, Carly Red,

Skinner:

And I’m your Co-host, Dr. Kevin Skinner,

Carly:

You’ve heard the formula: When you know better you do better?

Well we’ve found this is especially true when it comes to working with the young people in our lives.

Skinner:

Yes— the more information we absorb around our children’s mental health, understanding what makes them mentally healthy, what ultimately helps them be happy——the better we will be at creating the types of homes and places of learning where they can  gather emotional intelligence. And while so many of us never received this emotional education ourselves, we can learn and help your children. By doing so we will be creating a better world for our children. probably have a lot more to learn.

Carly:

And never more than ever, has it become more important to teach emotional AND relational skills. This upcoming generation will only know a digital world. And real relationships, true connection, will  become incontestably tricker as time moves forward.  Which means good mental health will be harder and harder to hold on to.

This is why I’ve recruited Dr. Skinner, the one who so many in the industry go to for answers, to give us answers here on Finding Noble!

Skinner:

In this first season of Finding Noble we will discuss the most significant concerns and questions we’ve acquired through thousands and thousands of assessments from parents all around the world— discussing Burnout, Anxiety, Mindful Parenting, Healthy Body Image, Creating Healthy Technology Plans, Nurturing a Growth Mindset, Boundaries, How to talk about Pornography…. and more.

It is never ever too late to learn more and to do better as parents, teachers and caregivers.

Carly:

Why are we doing this in a podcast? It’s because we feel an immediate urgency to circulate  mental health education to as many people as quickly as possible.

It will take more than a few professionals working on this— this really will take a collective effort, all of us working together.

So we hope you’ll accompany us here on Finding Noble as together we ALL  join in the noble work of healing and building real and true connection and healthy mental health in this new beautiful, growing generation of youth.
