Amy Wroe Bechtel was 24 years old in 1997 when she disappeared while running in the Wind River Mountains, 15 miles outside of Landers, Wyoming. She was a competitive long distance runner who was planning to try out for the 2000 Olympics. Amy was out mapping a run for an upcoming 10k race and when she didn't come home, her husband was worried. What was initially believed to be an injured or lost runner turned out to be a decades long mysterious disappearance of a young, capable woman.
