Aaron Shackelford, a draft pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2019, joins Adam this week on the pod. Aaron earned himself a spot in AAA last year with the Indianapolis Indians, playing 113 games, before asking for his release this previous month. He is currently a free agent working out in Arizona.
Shack shares the role that the Master's University and going away for a summer to Alaska played in him fully surrendering his life to Christ. He talks about how he went from not wanting to attend Masters to looking back now and reflecting upon his gratitude for its impact on his faith walk. Shack walks us through living for God's glory in his life and playing ball. He shares the mental battle he has continued to fight with within the game and his desire to succeed. However, he talks of the importance of being a light to his teammates and setting an example no matter the success or failure he is experiencing.
Revelation 3: 15-16
"I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to spit you out of my mouth".
