Athaliah, the mother of King Ahaziah, seized the throne of Judah by force after her son's death, slaughtering all royal heirs to secure her power. Her reign was marked by wickedness, idolatry, and a ruthless attempt to extinguish the Davidic line, defying God's covenant. Ultimately, her evil was exposed, and she was executed at the command of the high priest Jehoiada, bringing her murderous rule to a just end.
